Honda Odyssey Transmission Problem

Honda has been hounded by complaints and recalls about the five-speed automatic transmission since the Honda Odyssey's major redesign in 1999. However, these complaints and recalls are not solely for the Honda Odyssey but also for all the other Honda and Acura cars using the same five-speed automatic transmission. Ever since, early transmission failure has been the problem with most of Honda cars.

 

After finding out 10 transmission failure in 2004, Honda again recalled their vehicles. Aside from these, there has been an increase in the warranty involving the five-speed transmission since 1999. Honda however promised that they will take the matter seriously and address this long time problem for most of their cars.

 

With the release of the 2005 Honda Odyssey this September, consumers are expecting that the transmission problems and the other major problems of the Honda Odyssey are already answered. They expect a better Honda Odyssey, and a much safer one. However, only through use can we really say whether the problem has been remedied.
