2005 Honda Odyssey Redesign
The Honda Odyssey gets a major make-over for the year 2005. Honda gave it a lot
of new features to edge out its competitors in the minivan category. It was also
given a boost in power and performance as new engine and drivetrain features were
introduced for the 2005 model year.
The first notable change made for the Honda Odyssey is in its engine. The improved
VTEC V6 engine (also available in the i-VTEC variant) produces 255 hp of power
and 250 lb-ft torque, an increase of 15 hp and 8 lb-ft torque from the previous
year's engine performance. It is further equipped with the Variable Management
Technology that would deactivate three of its engine's six cylinders whenever
a large amount of power is not needed, making it more fuel economic at 20 mpg
in the city and 28 mpg in the highway.

While it has not increased its over-all size, the interior has improved a lot,
featuring new and innovative equipments that make it extra comfortable like a
sedan. It seats up to eight persons with a stowable PlusOne seat and a One Motion
60/40 Split Third-Row Magic Seat. Other innovative features for the Honda Odyssey
includes a DVD Rear Entertainment System, the new Honda Satellite-linked Navigation
System, the XM satellite radio and a premium 360 watt audio system.
The new Honda Odyssey is also complete with safety features that make every minivan
ride more reliable. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes (ABS), advanced
front and front side airbags, three-row side curtain airbags with rollover sensor
(a minivan first), and Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with Traction Control. It
also makes use of the Michelin Pax System run-flat tire technology for added safety
and security.
The long list of new and innovative feature never seems to stop. And with the
new and ultra-premium Touring model, a lot more of exclusive features are introduced.
Some of these features are power adjustable pedals, power tailgate, tri-zone automatic
climate control, Michelin PAX System, and 360-watt audio system.
